The meeting between Toulouse and Montpellier (4:2) in the 9th round of the French championship was interrupted due to riots in the stands.

In the course of the second half, the game was stopped due to riots that broke out in the guest stand, where tear gas was sprayed. According to various sources, this was done either by the Montpellier fans themselves, or by law enforcement officers who tried to pacify the fans in this way.

The pause lasted about 20 minutes, after which the meeting resumed. “Toulouse” managed to bring the matter to a landslide victory.

This is not the first time in recent times that matches in France have been interrupted due to unrest in the stands. In addition to Ligue 1 meetings, this season the start of the game between Nice and Cologne in the Conference League was delayed by almost an hour due to a fight between the teams’ fans.
