Spartak forward Nicholson: “Did the fact that I was recently on the same field with Messi help me score a goal? May be!”
Jamaican striker of Spartak Shamar Nicholson did not rule out the influence of the Argentine Lionel Messi on the fact that on Sunday he managed to score the first goal for the Red-Whites this season.
Last week, Nicholson in the national team of Jamaica played against the team of Argentina in a friendly match (0:3), in which Messi scored a double. On Sunday, the forward helped Spartak defeat PARI NN Nizhny Novgorod (2:1) in the away game of the 11th round of the MIR RPL.

– Did the fact that a few days ago I was on the same field with Messi help me score a goal? May be! For me to be on the field together (with him) was something special, this is a reason for pride. I watched this guy on TV as a kid. Maybe it gave me back my confidence and helped me a lot,” Nicholson said in an interview with the Spartak YouTube channel.
Nicholson in the 2022/23 season made 10 appearances for the Moscow club in all competitions.
