The Russian Football Union (RFU) is exploring the possibility of holding a friendly match between the national teams of Russia and Kazakhstan next year, said the head of the RFU, Alexander Dyukov.
The team of Valery Karpin on September 24 in Bishkek defeated the national team of Kyrgyzstan in a control match – 2:1.
– Can there be a match with the national team of Kazakhstan or with other teams?
We are considering such matches. But in the November window, we do not plan such a game. And we have other plans, and they have. In the spring – perhaps, – Dyukov told reporters.
In November, the Russian national team is scheduled to play friendly matches with the teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina (November 19 in St. Petersburg) and Iran. A number of Bosnian national team players opposed the game with the Russians.
– Will there be a match with Bosnia?
– At the moment, we proceed from the fact that we have agreed with the federation that the game will take place. Yes, there are statements from a number of players that they will refuse to take part in the match.
Of course, we want to play with the strongest. But even if one of the leaders does not come, a meeting is necessary. Because we understand that the return of our team will be gradual, such matches should be held. As for confirmation, we are waiting for October 10th. It is on this day that the federation of Bosnia will give its final answer. We are preparing for the match,” Dyukov said.
He also noted that the game against the Iranian team could take place in Qatar.
– We agreed that the match should be held. There is no other information yet. Preparations are going on as normal. It is important for us to hold this game, because the Iranian national team is a strong team and occupies a high place in the FIFA rankings. As for the location, the game is difficult to play in Russia in terms of logistics. Therefore, it will take place either in Iran or in Qatar,” the head of the RFU said.
