“Lenya, goodbye.” Fans of “Rubin” turned to Slutsky during the match with “Volga”

Rubin Kazan fans at the Russian Cup match against Volga Ulyanovsk posted several banners dedicated to the team’s head coach Leonid Slutsky.
The meeting of the fourth round of the path of the regions took place in Ulyanovsk and ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the hosts, the Kazan club flew out of the tournament.
The banners read “Lenya, goodbye” and “Lenya, goodbye, you’re a stranger here”, which is a reference to the Kar-Man song “London, goodbye” from the album “Around the World”.
Slutsky has been heading Rubin since 2019. At the end of last season, the team was relegated from the RPL to the second division of Russian football. In the MELBET First League standings, the Kazan team is in sixth place after 12 rounds, six points behind the leader Alania.
