Bayer Leverkusen striker Azmoun risks missing World Cup in Qatar due to torn calf muscle

Bayer Leverkusen striker Serdar Azmoun has been out of action for up to two months with a torn calf muscle in his right leg, according to the website of the Leverkusen club.

The Iranian was injured during the warm-up before the Champions League group stage match against Porto on Tuesday.

Thus, the former footballer of Rubin, Rostov and Zenit may miss the World Cup in Qatar. The first match of the Iranian national team in the tournament against the British will be held on November 21.

Azmoun has made 11 appearances in all competitions for Bayer this season and has scored two assists.
