Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has criticized the team’s coaching staff for the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo gets into the starting lineup exclusively for Europa League matches, and remains on the bench in the Premier League.
“More disrespectful than not letting Ronaldo in the Man City derby when Cristiano plays Thursday night in the Europa League. It’s about a world star. I’m not saying that at 37 he should start every game, but it’s hard to find motivation in this competition. I don’t like to say this, but when we talk about great clubs and great players, the reality is this, BT Sport quoted Scholes as saying.
Ronaldo has made six appearances in the Premier League this season, averaging 34 minutes of playing time.
