Another ex-Samaran also played an important role in the match.
There was absolutely no doubt that Spartak and Wings would give one of the best matches of the 12th round. And although it was not easy to surpass the derby between CSKA and Dynamo, Muscovites and Samara brilliantly coped with this task. The Red-Whites did their best, who once again this season had to recoup.
Guillermo Abascal’s team has already shown that it has a strong character – and in the match with the Wings at the Otkritie Arena, they again confirmed this. And in the first roles were the former players of the guests.
Zinkovsky buried the former club with a chic transfer!
The shootout starts
For the first half, Spartak came out with a rather interesting scheme. Guillermo Abascal attacked both Alexander Sobolev and Shamar Nicholson. Alas, the presence of two forwards did not really strengthen the game of the “red-whites” in attack. In the first minutes of the match, the hosts looked too academic.
But “Wings” already in the 6th minute carried out a smashing counterattack, which ended in a goal. Sergey Pinyaev went down the flank and passed to the center for Maxim Glushenkov, who, in turn, provided a pass to Roman Yezhov, who was in a more advantageous position. The 11th number of the Samara team calmly shot Alexander Selikhov.

After the goal was scored, the Wings began to defend more deeply. Only now the team of Igor Osinkin has never been famous for its ability to close. Having received the ball at its full disposal, Spartak began to get closer and closer to the opponent’s goal. 8 minutes before the end of regular time of the first half, an alarm bell rang for the guests. Giorgi Jikia responded to the transfer from the standard and drove the ball into the goal.
Referee Vasily Kazartsev had to watch the episode on the monitor for a long time. First, Jikia was found offside. Secondly, Georgy Zotov played dangerously against the Spartak captain and potentially fouled on a red card. Having enjoyed plenty of replays from different angles, Kazartsev made a complex decision: 1) offside, so no penalty, 2) the card is still yellow, because there was no deliberate rudeness in the actions of the Wings defender.
The Spartak bench reacted very emotionally to the judge’s verdict. However, soon Abascal and the company forgot about the anger towards the referee. All attention was drawn to Quincy Promes, who sent the ball into the net of Ivan Lomaev’s net after Daniil Denisov’s discount from the summer. The goalkeeper of “Wings” almost coped with the blow, but practically does not count.

The character of “Spartacus”
In the second half, the Spartacists came out with a completely different attitude. The Red-Whites immediately began to attack, and their efforts were immediately rewarded. The goal was made by the former Samara resident Danil Prutsev. Having received the ball from the penalty area, he gathered two opponents for himself, and then made a tricky pass to the freed Alexander Sobolev. The forward calmly took the ball and skillfully sent it to the bottom corner. Needless to say: this team has no problems with the character!
The level of euphoria of the Moscow fans must have jumped even more after Selikhov dragged Yezhov’s shot almost point-blank. However, almost immediately after that, forward Amar Rakhmanovich literally brought the ball into the goal of the “red-whites” after a free-kick. The goal was watched by Kazartsev’s video assistants for some time, but in the end the referees did not find any reason to review the episode. It turned out that everything is in order with Samara’s moral and strong-willed.
After that, Abaskal made a substitution, which suggested itself almost from the very beginning of the meeting – he released Anton Zinkovsky instead of Shamar Nicholson. The Jamaican was rather useless, but the former Samaran immediately showed that he was not eating his bread in vain. A magnificent serve from the flank – and Sobolev draws up a double! A chic English goal again brought Spartak forward, and something suggested that the Red-Whites would not lose the lead anymore.

All is decided
And then everything became completely clear. Promes filed from a free kick, and Ruslan Litvinov flashed Lomaev with a header. Toward the end of the meeting, the score completely reached the indecent level – Quincy scored a double. “Spartak” in the hardest and very bright confrontation once again showed the will to win and, in general, very confidently took three points.
It is curious that the moments with the participation of former Wings players became the key ones. Prutsev and Zinkovsky made the most important (and very smart!) assists, without which success would hardly have come to Spartak. And the “red-whites” are second again!
