The former head coach of Spartak Alexander Tarkhanov spoke about the game of the Red-Whites this season, noting that the club under Guillermo Abascal began to play in a new way.

– Of course. Whenever a team plays well, you can see some style, an idea, which means that this is coaching. Spartak didn’t play like that that season. And now he plays the kind of football that the audience likes. Yes, and many people like it.

– What are the ideas of Spartak on the field?

– The game depends on the training process. If there are no targeted, competent training sessions, then the team plays at random – a well-known fact. If you can see what the players want, they know how to play in attack, how to play in defense, how to go from defense to attack and vice versa, how to put pressure, then everything is worked out in the training process. Abascal should be praised.

– Can Spartak and CSKA be called real, not paper competitors of Zenit?

– Of course, you can play with Zenit, they also lose points. CSKA played well with Zenit in St. Petersburg, where they did not count the goal. And Spartak generally beat them in the Cup 3:0.
