Former coach of “Akhmat” Andrei Talalaev told the story that happened after the match of the 1st round of the Russian Premier League against Spartak (1: 1). Akhmat players wanted to talk seriously Quincy Promesominstead, the situation was resolved by the captain of the “red-whites” Giorgio Jikia.
During the match against Spartak in the 1st round, Promes gave himself too much in his statements against our players. The guys wanted to meet him and met him on the Spartak bus, sat in the locker room for a long time and waited. This conflict was only resolved by Jikia, which should be especially noted: he is a leader not only on the pitch and in the locker room, but also in his life. He is a very nice guy.
Promes is a great player, I love him and now largely determines Spartak’s success. But at the same time, there are things that are unacceptable. Or you should apologize later. It’s not just the first time. I saw a game where he allowed himself to speak. Even my knowledge of English was enough to hear everything. Men must remain men.
How did Jikia make things right? He took Promes, but didn’t let him get on the bus, but walked in and apologized for him himself. To be honest, I was in the first part and in the middle of this conflict, and then I went to a press conference. He came back late and didn’t see with his eyes how it ended. The boys said: “Coach, we have solved by ourselves”. And they talked about the role of Jikia.
