Thirteen fans were arrested after riots at the match “West Ham” – “Anderlecht”, four police officers were injured
Mass riots involving fans, during which four policemen were injured, ended the match of the 4th round of the group stage of the Conference Football League between English West Ham and Belgian Anderlecht, reports Sky Sports.
The meeting was held on October 13 in London and ended with the victory of the home team with a score of 2:1.
At the end of the meeting, the guests’ fans began to throw flares and plastic chairs at the hosts’ fans sector, as a result of which the police intervened. One of the officers was suspected of having a broken arm, another received stitches due to a head injury, and two more received blows to the head.
A total of 13 people were arrested. Anderlecht condemned the behavior of their fans.
“We want to apologize to West Ham for this behavior,” said a spokesman for the club from Brussels.
West Ham are top of Group B with 12 points, ahead of Danish Silkeborg (6), Anderlecht (4) and Romanian Steaua (1).
