“There was no other choice.” Chugainov – about the departure of Plutnik from the post of chairman of the board of directors of Lokomotiv
Former Lokomotiv Moscow defender Igor Chugainov told RT that Alexander Plutnik’s departure from the post of chairman of the club’s board of directors was inevitable.
On Friday, Lokomotiv announced the appointment of Yury Nagornykh, Communications Director of Russian Railways, to replace Plutnik as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Moscow club.
Last week, Muscovites fired head coach Josef Zinnbauer and sports director Thomas Zorn. The team scored 9 points in 12 rounds of the WORLD RPL and takes 14th place in the standings, being in the play-off zone.
– As I understand it, the decision was made on the basis of the logic that the manager should also be responsible, because he directly recruited employees. Thomas Zorn and coaches were invited not without his (Plutnik) participation. Apparently, the unsatisfactory results led to castling, including as chairman of the board of directors. And given the state of affairs, there was no other choice. In addition, now the club’s development vector will most likely change,” Chugainov said.
