Petersburg women’s club “Zenith” for the first time in history became the champion of Russia in football.
“Zenith” on the road played a draw with “Rostov” in the match of the 4th round of the final stage of the Women’s Super League – 0:0. This result allowed Zenit to win the gold medals of the tournament.
In 22 league games, Zenit scored 33 points, 9 points ahead of second-placed CSKA, which has three games left to play before the end of the season. CSKA cannot overtake Zenit in the standings based on the results of personal meetings.
Zenit will be awarded gold medals on October 21 at the match with CSKA, the press service of the team from St. Petersburg informs.
