Platini thinks Benzema needs to win 2022 World Cup to live up to Ballon d’Or status

Former French team leader Michel Platini believes that Karim Benzema must show the appropriate level of play at the upcoming World Cup in order to “justify his status” as the owner of the Golden Ball.
– Now he has a big responsibility to be the best player in the world, and soon the World Cup. Benzema needs to be at the top to live up to his status. He becomes a French football legend,” Platini said.
34-year-old Benzema won the Ballon d’Or for the first time. It has previously been nominated 10 times for this award.
