Former Spartak head coach Dmitry Alenichev told Match TV what he would be guided by if he received offers to coach MELBET First League teams again.

Alenichev’s last job at a professional level was Yenisei from Krasnoyarsk, which he left in May 2019. With Yenisei and Tula Arsenal, the coach, who turned 50 on October 20, went to the top division.

– Now I have a “training break” for now. Three years have already passed. And this is considered a fairly large downtime. But I don’t sit on the couch – I devote a lot of time to football.

During these three years there were many proposals. But they did not interest me in the same way as, for example, the offer of the Tula Arsenal, the Krasnoyarsk Yenisei, when I arrived, talked with the governor and a minute later signed the contract, interested me. Because I understood the purpose. The governor asked to go to the RPL, to do everything possible. He said he would help. And he helped, of course. This is interesting to me, although it was the First League.

Flew to Krasnoyarsk. I understood that the flights and the time difference. Difficult tournament in the FNL. Everyone knew perfectly well what difficulties awaited me. Nevertheless, we solved the problem. In the first season, they entered the RPL, which was agreed with the governor. If there are such proposals, even from the First League, I will consider them. But fighting for survival in the First League, being in the middle of the table is not! It is important that there is a specific goal.

Now I train one amateur team, I advise. Not every day, but still. I’m interested. Because the team finished second in the second amateur division last season. Now we are in the first place, the team is in the top three. This is interesting to me, even though they are amateurs. And if they were in the middle of the table or at the bottom, there would be no drive. I don’t see the difference between 17th place and tenth. It’s not mine! I want to always win!
