“Spartak” does not agree with the decision of the RFU. Was the CSKA coach punished too lightly?
The coaches of the Moscow teams will miss one match each. But the committee gave Fedotov quite a fair “addition”.
The sensational story with the skirmish between the coaches of CSKA and Spartak during the derby received a logical outcome. By the decision of the FTC RFU, Spartak’s mentor Guillermo Abascal was suspended for one match, and his counterpart from CSKA Vladimir Fedotov – for two, but for the second game – conditionally. In addition, the Russian coach has been placed on probation until the end of the season.
However, Spartak unexpectedly announced their disagreement with the committee’s decision. What was missing “red-white”?
Compromise solution?
As a result of the skirmish between the coaches during the match, as well as Fedotov’s controversial statement at the post-match press conference, the RFU Control and Disciplinary Committee punished the mentors by skipping the matches of the 14th round of the Russian Championship (the suspension applies to RPL matches) and a fine of 50 thousand rubles for each. Thus, Fedotov will miss the match between CSKA and Orenburg, and Guillermo Abascal will miss the game between Spartak and Khimki.
The decision seems to be rather controversial. At the exit from the office of the RFU, Abascal told reporters that he did not agree with the sanctions of the FTC, and he can be understood. Judge for yourself: back in the first half of the derby, Vladimir Fedotov, using profanity, yelled at the Red-and-White player Danil Prutsev (this was caught on video), during the break in the match, in response to the overly emotional claims of the Spaniard, the Russian specialist insulted him several times, and on post-match press conference mentioned Abascal in the middle gender. The mentor of the “red-whites”, judging by the video, allowed himself only an emotional attack on Fedotov – with bright articulation, but without foul language.
FTC explains otherwise
The decision of the disciplinary committee to “reward” coaches with essentially the same punishment may seem strange. In all the videos that appeared on the network, there is not a single evidence of Fedotov’s insults from Abaskal. But the head of the FTC, Artur Grigoryants, has different arguments:
– As for coach Abascal, his behavior was considered from the point of view of unsportsmanlike behavior and provocative actions. It was concluded that his actions created a security risk at the stadium. He aggressively walked towards the zone of the CSKA team. We have established what words he said: “Fair play”. We saw that there was excitement on the podium. The stewards had to intervene to hold back the fans. The Spartak security service prevented a certain conflict, he took the coach to a room under the stands, Grigoryants said in an interview with RIA.
It turns out that the Spanish specialist received a suspension for one match for an emotional attack during the break, and Fedotov, in fact, the same term for insulting a player and coach, whom, among other things, he also touched after the match.
It does not look very fair, if you do not take into account one detail – Fedotov has been placed on probation until the end of the season. Thus, the CSKA coach was not punished too harshly for a one-time emotional outburst, but was warned for the future. In the event of Fedotov’s repeated violation of the RFU disciplinary regulations, the coach’s disqualification could become much longer.
