In North Wales, there seems to be some inspiration from UFC fights.
Brawls between football players on the field are not uncommon, but in most cases they are most often limited to disputes and hustle. However, sometimes players cross the border.
A terrible episode occurred in a Welsh amateur league match. A player from one of the teams provoked a mass brawl by attacking an opponent with his fists!
The referee did not regret the red cards.
ancient derby
Matches in the third largest amateur league in Wales are not popular with the general public, although local clubs have been chasing the ball since the century before last. In a recent derby, for example, Bangor 1876 and Reel 1879 met, teams with an exceptional history that eventually became principal rivals.
Throughout the game, the teams fought desperately on the field, trying to snatch victory, but in the end, the confrontation went beyond football. In the 73rd minute, the referee showed a red card to the Rila coach, sending him to the stands, and in the 84th minute he sent off the team’s defender for hitting the opponent’s legs. But the real heat began in stoppage time.
After another rough episode, the chief referee wrote two players from both teams on the red for a brawl and rude speech, but the retired Rila football player did not calm down. First, Alex Jones began to pull one of his opponents aside, apparently in order to sort it out. However, not getting what he wanted, he simply attacked the Bangor football player with his fists, having managed to inflict two very hard blows on his face.
Teammates dragged Jones away from his victim, but the Bangor players decided to reciprocate such an attack by organizing a massive massacre. As a result, the staff, coaches and substitutes, who ran onto the field, barely managed to separate the enraged players only after a few minutes.
At the end of the mass brawl, the chief referee of the meeting issued a total of five red cards to players from both teams. If this happened not at the very end of the game, it would be most interesting to watch the further course of the match. However, before the final whistle, the teams had only a couple of minutes to play. As a result, with a score of 2: 1, the victory in the derby with seven removals was won by Bangor 1876.
