The general director of Sevastopol, Valery Chaly, told RT that he had a meeting with FNL President Nail Izmailov, at which the issue of integrating Crimean teams into Russian football competitions was discussed.
In August, the FNL created a working group on the integration of Crimean clubs into Russian football. In October, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko reported to Vladimir Putin that there was an agreement with the RFU on the imminent inclusion of Crimean clubs in Russian football leagues.
– FNL President Nail Izmailov came to Crimea. I met and talked with him. He already understands the situation we are in, met people, attended their matches. The last time we saw him was on October 12 in Yalta at the game between Rubin (Yalta) and Sevastopol. Izmailov assured that work on the adoption of clubs is underway. It remains to solve technical issues. The most important thing now is to get the documents necessary for licensing,” Chaly said.
Crimea has been declared a special football territory by UEFA. For these purposes, in July 2015, under the auspices of UEFA, the Crimean Football Union with a special status was created. At the moment, not a single club of the peninsula participates in professional tournaments under the auspices of the Russian Football Union.
