Inter advance to Champions League playoffs by sending Barcelona to the Champions League

Inter defeated Viktoria Plzen in the match of the 5th round of the Champions League group stage.
The meeting took place at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium and ended with the score 4:0. In the first half, the hosts scored twice: Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the scoring with a header from Alessandro Bastoni, and later Edin Dzeko doubled Inter’s lead. In the second half of the meeting, Dzeko scored a double, and Romelu Lukaku, who missed 12 matches for the club, scored the fourth goal of the match.

Simone Inzaghi’s team scored 10 points and secured a place in the Champions League playoffs. Barcelona, in the event of a tie with Inter, will be ranked lower, as in face-to-face meetings, the club from Italy has the advantage.
