The former head coach of Zenit, Vlastimil Petrzhela, expressed his opinion about Stanislav Cherchesov and Ferencvaros, who, under the guidance of a Russian specialist, reached the playoffs of the Europa League.
– Cherchesov has come a difficult way. After the failure at Euro 2020, many wrote him off, but Stanislav proved that he is a strong football coach. The Europa League is a difficult competition in terms of competition, so success there is always of great importance.
Although now Russian clubs are suspended from European competitions, I am sure that in a face-to-face match, Zenit would have beaten Cherchesov’s Ferencvaros with their eyes closed. Individually, Zenit players are much stronger than the Hungarians, Sport24 quotes Petrzhela.
