The Kazan team again lost points in the Best League in the world.
The position of Rubin in the current season of the First League causes serious concern among the club’s fans. After the 16th round, the team, which was considered the favorite of the tournament, is only in 5th place. After an offensive draw with outsiders from Akron, Kazan also lost points in a home match with Baltika.
Especially symbolic for the team of Leonid Slutsky was an unusual goal, which his wards conceded at the beginning of the second half.
If your team is scored even with the fifth point, something is definitely going wrong.
mocking goal
Relegated from the Russian Premier League at the end of last season, Rubin lost most of the base’s players even before falling into the second division of the country. Now the Kazan team is fighting with rivals, not having a solid backbone in its composition in order to achieve a confident advantage over opponents. Nevertheless, the fans of the club have the highest expectations from Kazan – they expect unconditional leadership from Rubin and return to the RPL following the campaign.
However, while the wards of Leonid Slutsky are not even able to gain a foothold at the top of the table. After sixteen rounds, the team takes only 5th place in the championship. Moreover, in the last game, Rubin lost very important points, drawing with a direct competitor – Kaliningrad Baltika, which is on the second line.
Already in the 3rd minute, the Baltics opened the gates of Rubin: the Bosnian forward of the guests Gedeon Guzina sent the ball with his head into the net of the Kazan goal after a smart pass from Kirill Malyarov. The second goal of the match followed in the 37th minute, and again by the Bosnian striker of the guests – Kazan knocked down Guzina in their own penalty area and received a penalty, which the victim himself went to convert.
Gedeon shot into the bottom right corner of the goal, Rubin’s goalkeeper Yuri Dyupin saved the ball, but couldn’t keep it in his gloves. Guzina was the first on the bounced ball and finished it off. The stands at the Ak Bars Arena did not appreciate such a development of the game, booing the players of the Kazan team and again calling on Leonid Slutsky to leave the post of head coach.
Nevertheless, Kazan showed their character – in the 43rd minute of the meeting, midfielder of the hosts Dmitry Kabutov reduced the gap in the score. A goal in the locker room was supposed to psychologically shake up the team before the second half, but two minutes after it started, the defender of the Baltics, Ivan Ostoyich, decided to psychologically finish off the Kazan team. The Serb ran into the Kazan penalty area for a corner and turned the ball from the pitch into the opponent’s goal … with a graceful fifth-point kick!

After the third goal, Kazan could finally unstuck, but still resisted. In the 58th minute, Yegor Teslenko reduced the difference in the score, and in the 87th minute, Vitaliy Lisakovich snatched a draw for the team. Rubin managed to get away from a most offensive defeat, but the goal conceded after a butt kick in any case perfectly embodies the current position of Kazan. To return to the RPL, Slutsky and his team will have to work hard!
