Krasnodar midfielder Ilzat Akhmetov shared his emotions after being included in the extended list of the Russian national team for the upcoming friendly matches.
On Thursday it became known that Akhmetov was included in the expanded composition of the Russian team for the November training camp. A total of 37 players were called to the camp.
– Your name was announced in the list of the Russian national team, what are your emotions from this event?
– Emotions? Yes, I just found out. I am very happy, because it is a great honor to play for the national team. This is an extended list so far, and there, as the final one is announced, there will already be another joy.
– You have been playing very brightly for Krasnodar lately. Is your call to the national team deserved?
– This is not for me to decide, but for the coaching staff of the national team. I try to make the most of my playing time. I want to be useful, score and give assists.
– The fact that the upcoming matches will be friendly does not affect motivation in any way?
– Of course, wearing a national team shirt is always a prestige and a big responsibility, so there is no difference between an official or a friendly game. You have to go to every game and prove that you are worthy of the Russian team jersey,” Akhmetov said in an interview with Metaratings.ru.
The Russian national team on November 17 in Dushanbe at the Central Republican Stadium will play a friendly match with Tajikistan. “Match TV” will show the meeting live. According to Match TV, Valery Karpin’s team will also meet with Uzbekistan on November 20 on the road.
