Spartak striker Alexander Sobolev told the Championship that the head coach of the club, Guillermo Abascal, introduced a ban on obscene language during the training process in the team.

— Abaskal has quite emotional attitudes. It is clear that (Paolo) Vanoli was more emotional, but Guillermo charges well. Sometimes we even understand him when he switches to Spanish, because everything can be seen through emotions.

He forbade swearing at the first practice? Yes, it works. He wants to always have a working prompt – without negativity. With Abascal we play more control. Guillermo pays attention to small details that not everyone sees. For each opponent, he finds unique things, weaknesses that need to be used,” he said.

Sobolev also noted that the Spanish specialist, in addition to general theoretical classes, often conducts individual work with football players.

— Abascal found an individual approach to each player and created a wonderful atmosphere. Now there are victories, we play well – this gives confidence in our abilities. The coach trusts everyone, constantly tells us about it. Sometimes after matches, Abascal arranges an individual theory, but not only with me. We are constantly in touch: general theory plus one-on-one conversations. It helps a lot. We have a lot of tactics! Nobody knew anything about Abaskal? So what? Nobody knew Tedesco either. They began to say that Abascal was young. But Domenico was also young,” Sobolev added.

Sobolev, 25, has made 14 appearances this season, scoring seven goals and making six assists.

After 15 rounds of the Russian Championship, Spartak is in second place in the standings with 32 points.
