Former Juventus and Genoa midfielder Ilyas Zeytullayev advised Roma forward Eldor Shomurodov to finish the season in the Roman team.
On November 8, there were rumors that Shomurodov could leave Roma in the winter, as he was dissatisfied with the small amount of playing time. In the 2022/23 season, he has 85 minutes in 7 meetings and 1 goal.
– My personal opinion: for Eldor to play at Roma is a huge privilege. I would advise him to finish the season. He is not a main player, but he enters the field.
– Is leaving for Torino or Bologna a demotion for Eldor? Or is it important to play?
– At Roma, he got to a good level. After her, only Inter, Juventus. I would suggest finishing the season in Rome, but you need to ask Mourinho if he is betting on Eldor. If Mourinho says: “Eldor, find yourself a club”, then, of course, it is better to go to Bologna or Torino, where he will play.
– Do you think it is difficult for Shomurodov to compete in Roma with Abraham, Belotti?
– I have friends in Italy who support Roma. They like Shomurodov very much. They speak very well of him. When he comes out, he fights, helps in defense. They wonder why Eldor plays so little. Abraham – okay, he moved from Chelsea, Zaniolo – Shomurodov is a little hard to compete with them. But Belotti, El Shaarawy, he is in no way inferior. Eldor is a humble and good person. I think he should continue to fight,” Zeytullayev told RB Sport.
Shomurodov’s contract with Roma is valid until June 30, 2026. Two other Italian clubs are showing interest in the footballer: Bologna and Torino.
