“In terms of its level, Khaikin is clearly suitable for teams from the top 5 European championships” – Yuri Semin

Russian goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin managed to show himself well in matches against top teams, he can play in clubs from the top five European championships, former head coach of the Russian national team Yuri Semin told Match TV.

Earlier it was reported that clubs from Poland, Germany and the English Championship are interested in the 27-year-old goalkeeper. The Russian had previously announced that he would leave the Norwegian Bodé-Glimt in December.

– It is difficult to say which European championship will suit Nikita and where he will go. But Khaikin had a great career at Bodø Glimt. He became the champion of the country and grew up as a football player. We saw how he played in matches against top teams – Roma, Arsenal. Everywhere he showed a very high level. I have no doubt that in terms of his level, Khaikin is clearly suitable for teams from the top 5 European championships. And I don’t know what Nikita will choose, he didn’t say, although I talked with him, ”Semin told Match TV.

Khaikin has been with Boude-Glimt since March 2019 and his contract expires on 31 December. In total, he played 77 matches in the Norwegian championship and conceded 79 goals.

TRUBIN: “The goal is the World Championship. Not just getting into the group, but getting out of the group.”

TRUBIN: “The goal is the World Championship. Not just getting into the group, but getting out of the group.”

Goalkeeper of Benfica and the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin He talked about the duties of the national team in 2026 as follows:

“World Cup rivals? To be honest, it’s hard to talk about it right now. I know the match with Sweden for sure, but I still can’t quite understand what kind of rivals we are talking about. Yes, they are talking about Albania and Poland, these are serious teams. But right now we have to go through Sweden first.”

Now everyone is in club football, everyone has their own duties, their own focus. Concentrate on the club for now. When the national team time comes, we will prepare for Sweden and continue our way step by step. We have been convinced over and over again that there is no point in getting ahead of ourselves. Everyone remembers how this could have ended.

Of course, the World Championship is a very important and big goal. The last time the Ukrainian national team played there was in 2006, so it would definitely be very, very nice for us. But don’t just go out, make yourself look good, try to stand out from the group.

Therefore, the first task is to participate in the World Championship. I think this is a goal and a dream not only for the players, but also for all the fans and all Ukrainians. “When the national team plays, everyone watches football, even those who don’t follow it much.”
