British singer Dua Lipa denied information about her performance at the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Earlier, the media reported that Dua Lipa will take part in the opening ceremony. The singer is currently in Australia, where she performs as part of her 10-month world tour. The career of a British woman with roots from Kosovo has experience of performing at major football forums – in 2018 she sang in Kyiv at the opening ceremony of the Champions League final.
– Now there is a lot of speculation about the fact that I will perform at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar. I will not speak and have never been involved in any negotiations to speak. I will cheer for England from afar and look forward to visiting Qatar when it fulfills all the human rights promises it made when it received the right to host,” the singer wrote on her social media page.
The World Cup in Qatar will be held from November 20 to December 18.
