Real Madrid and Germany defender Antonio Rüdiger has donated to charity the amount he plans to earn from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The football player, in collaboration with the organization BigShoe, paid for a series of expensive operations for 11 children with congenital clubfoot from Sierra Leone in Africa, where his mother is from.

“It hurts to see the conditions children grow up in Sierra Leone. During the operation, the misalignment is corrected, after which, after several months of treatment, patients are finally able to walk and participate in social life.

In Germany, I was given opportunities that many people in Sierra Leone do not have. I am grateful for these opportunities and greatly appreciate the privileged position in which I find myself. Helping here is a matter of honor for me. In the future, I would like to implement many more projects in Sierra Leone with my family,” Marca quotes Rüdiger as saying.

The player also sent a lot of T-shirts to the African country to cheer up children after operations. In the summer, the athlete laid the foundation for the opening of a foundation in Sierra Leone, through which he will be even more active in helping people from this state.

The German national team at the World Cup, which will be held from November 20 to December 18, will play in Group E with the teams of Spain, Costa Rica and Japan.
