Serbia explained the absence of CSKA players Gajic and Zdelar in the final squad for the 2022 World Cup

Telegraf.rs journalist Zoran Ivkovic explained why CSKA football players Milan Gajic and Sasha Zdelar were not called up to the Serbian national team to participate in the World Cup.

Serbs at the 2022 World Cup were in Group G along with the teams of Brazil, Switzerland and Cameroon.

– Milan Gajic and Sasha Zdelar were not included in the final list of the Serbian national team only because the head coach Dragan Stojkovic had already formed the squad a long time ago. All the players who are on the list for the World Cup in Qatar really deserve an invitation. These are the best players that Serbia has at the moment. Zdelar and Gajic are also strong, but there are players who are even better. Of course it is a pity that they are not called. Enough time has already passed, and the fans have no objection to the final list of the head coach. In the past, it happened that before the European or World Championships, previous head coaches could suddenly invite players who did not deserve a call in any way. Now everything is good in the Serbian national team, and I believe that in the future such high-quality and young players as Zdelar and Gajic will be called up to the national team, Sport24 quotes Ivkovic.

The Match TV channel became the exclusive owner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Russia. As part of an agreement with FIFA, Match TV received the opportunity to broadcast live, use fragments of games on television, broadcast and use highlights on digital platforms, as well as sell advertising inventory in broadcasts. All 64 matches of the tournament will be shown on the platforms of Match TV channels

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
