Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo feels his club is outdated by a number of criteria.
To be honest, when I moved to Manchester United, I thought everything had changed in 13 years. I played for Real Madrid for nine years and for Juventus for three years. It seemed to me that inside Manchester United there will be advanced technologies, infrastructure and so on. But the real state of affairs surprised me unpleasantly. I realized that everything remained the same.
I understood that Manchester United is not what it used to be. But I didn’t think it would appear so much. TO Manchester United there was no development. They lag behind the rest of the world compared to Real Madrid and Juventus. And the technologies, especially those related to the process of training, nutrition, conditions for adequate recovery, surprised me.
I’m sure Manchester are now lagging behind these clubs and that put me off. A club of this level should be a leader, but sadly that’s not the case. Manchester United it does not correspond to this level, but I hope that everything will change in the next few years. I don’t know what’s going on, but since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure I haven’t noticed any progress. Only zero.
