King of Saudi Arabia declares Wednesday a day off after soccer team win over Argentina – media
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia declared Wednesday, November 23, a public holiday in the country after the football team beat the Argentine team at the World Cup in Qatar, Arabnews.com reports.
The meeting of group C was held in Lusail and ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the Saudis, who were losing during the game.
Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina for the first time. This match was the fifth in the history of the confrontation between the two national teams: the Argentines have only two victories.
Also in group C are the teams of Poland and Mexico, which play each other on Tuesday.
