Mexico defeated Saudi Arabia in the 2022 World Cup, but did not qualify for the playoffs on goal difference

The Mexican national team defeated the team of Saudi Arabia in the group stage match of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Group C met at the Lusail Aikonik Stadium in Lusail and ended with a score of 2:1. The goals for the Mexicans were scored by Enri Martin (47th minute) and Luiz Chavez (52). The Saudis scored Salem Al-Dawsari in added time to the second half.
The Mexican national team finished third in the group with 4 points and did not reach the playoffs of the World Cup in Qatar. The first in quartet C were the Argentines (6), the second – the Poles (4), who were ahead of the Mexicans in terms of the best difference between goals scored and conceded. The Saudis are in fourth place (3).
