Croat Tomislav Dujmovic, former midfielder of Moscow Lokomotiv and Dynamo, believes that the transfer of the RFU to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will be a big loss for UEFA.
The President of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, said on November 27 that the issue of moving to the AFC would be considered at the next meeting of the executive committee.
– If Russian football moves to the AFC, it will be a big loss for UEFA. Why? Look who coached the same Russian team: Hiddink, Lawyer, Capello. In Europe, not only followed the Russian football, but also feared the Russian team. And what were the quality players: Arshavin, Pavlyuchenko and many others. They played in Europe and they were respected.
As I said, Russia’s exit from European football is a loss only for UEFA. Is it a minus for Russian football? Nobody will say it yet. In any case, it will benefit the Russian team. The national team must participate in international tournaments. It will also be good for Asian teams and national teams to have Russian clubs and national teams as rivals. Now you can see how the same Japan and South Korea knock out the European top teams at this World Cup. This will only be a plus for Russian football. Why not? – Sport24 quotes Duimovich.
