Football agent Vadim Shpinev spoke about the limit on legionnaires in Russian football, noting that the clubs of the Russian Premier League (RPL) need to buy only high-level foreign players.
On Thursday, the Russian Football Union (RFU) confirmed Match TV’s information about a meeting with the Russian Ministry of Sports on the issue of a limit on legionnaires in Russian football. The organization emphasized that at the meeting “the parties came to the conclusion that there are no grounds for revising the limit at the moment.”
— I have always advocated a reasonable approach to inviting foreigners. They must be of high quality, good, expensive – they must be the players who determine the result. And then our guys, including young ones, taking part in the training process, will progress, grow and strive for the better. The dominance of foreigners, besides dubious ones, will not lead to anything good.
If you take Spartak, they have Moses, Promes, they meet the requirements I spoke about. I know how Promes behaves in the team, how he positions himself, how he communicates with young guys. Such a player is needed in the team. Moses is a little different, but we don’t have a lot of players that competed at Chelsea.
Clearly, getting here and seeing the level, they to some extent reduce the requirements for themselves. Including in the training process. They are well aware of what they have. They don’t get out of their skin, that’s enough for them – and that’s not very good either. But in general they are professionals.
Zenit also has a number of players, for example, Barrios, Malcolm, Claudinho. These are the players who are needed, but not every club can afford them. Everything else, Asia, for example, raises my doubts. Each Moscow academy graduates 25 boys a year. They, in fact, get less and less chance to play when there are players of average quality, – Metaratings.ru quotes Shpinev.
