Frenkie De Jong: ‘Perhaps Lionel Messi’s greatness influenced the referee’

Dutch midfielder Frankie De Jong commented on refereeing in the 1/4 final match world Cup-2022 with Argentina (2:2 in regular time and overtime, 3:4 on penalties).

The match was served by a Spaniard Matthew Laos.

As soon as regular time was over, the players of the Argentine national team approached him. After that, he only booed on their behalf. He is just outrageous.

Mateu Laos is an ordinary guy, a good judge. But here he was not himself. I think he lost his bearings in overtime. It may be that he was influenced by the greatness of Lionel Messi. The referee’s fault is not here, but it did affect the game.
