Defenders of England John Stones And Kyle Walker will withdraw a cat from Qatar after the departure of the national team from the World Cup.
Both footballers befriended a stray tabby cat during their four-week stay in Qatar. Stones named the pet Dave and Walker promised that he would take the pet to England if the team won the World Cup. Despite his departure from France in the quarter-finals, the players became so fond of Dave that they decided to take him to England anyway.
The cat has been taken to a local veterinary clinic for tests and vaccinations and will spend four months in quarantine before being sent to Manchester City or the care of Stones or Walker, who both play for Citizens.
