Morocco became the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup
The Moroccan national team became the first African team in the history of the World Cup, which managed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
Moroccans beat Portugal 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Saturday.

Morocco is also the third non-European and non-South American team to reach this stage of the tournament, after the United States (1930) and South Korea (2002).
Previously, from the African teams, the teams of Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002) and Ghana (2010) reached the quarterfinals of the world championships.

In addition, the Moroccan national team became the first African team to remain undefeated in six consecutive World Cup matches. The Cameroon national team went undefeated in five consecutive World Cup games from 1982 to 1990.
In the semi-final, the Moroccans will face the winner of the match England – France, which will take place later on Saturday.
