The International Federation has already opened a case against the Argentines. It would be better if Leo did not speak out!
The Argentina national team made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup, beating the Netherlands in a hot match. There was no need to talk about peace and friendship on the field – some episodes threatened to escalate into mass brawls. The meeting has ended, but the events that occurred during the game may still affect its participants. FIFA opened a case against the Argentines. Now they risk paying for the hot temper of Messi and his partners in the near future.
There was no need to upset the referee!
“Taken out of context”
Match ¼ finals of the World Cup between the national teams of the Netherlands and Argentina ended in an uneasy victory for the South Americans. It was possible to put the squeeze on the “oranges” only in a penalty shoot-out – now the team of Lionel Scaloni is waiting for the semi-final game against Croatia.
But not only pleasant expectations are limited to the prospects of the Argentines. Serious financial problems also loomed on the horizon for Albiceleste. The FIFA Disciplinary Committee opened a case against the Argentine Football Association. There are several reasons for dissatisfaction with the actions and words of the winners. According to media reports, the objects of the investigation were Emiliano Martinez, Leandro Paredes, Nicolas Otamendi and, of course, Lionel Messi.
Otamendi’s possible fault lies in the fact that he, along with Paredes, was too defiantly happy about the victory over the Dutch, for which there is photographic evidence. The defender does not agree with this interpretation of the episode, but his explanations look somehow vague.
This photo was taken out of context. One Dutch footballer, before each of our penalties, ran up to the players of our team and shouted something. For this reason, I decided to celebrate the victory in this way, — quotes the words of Otamendi Mundo Deportivo.
Paredes was marked not only by a provocative celebration, but also by hitting the ball on the bench of the Netherlands national team. The ex-midfielder of Zenit really played rough at the end of the regular time of the match. He cut down Nathan Ake and then did something similar to attacking the Orange bench. After the episode, a brawl began, but it would not be superfluous to note that the Argentine responded to Ake’s rough game against Messi. According to the players of the Argentina national team, the referee could have recorded a violation, but missed it, and therefore Leandro had to lynch.

“Get out of here, you moron!”
If some Argentine footballers risk paying for unfriendly actions, others may suffer for words. Albiseleste goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a critical statement about the refereeing, praising the work of the chief referee Mateu Laos.
“They came to my gate twice in the end. I don’t know what the judge was guided by, but he added 10 minutes. He wanted us to draw. The truth is that this is the worst referee by a margin at the World Championships, – Martinez was quoted by TyCSports.
Marked by criticism of the referee and Messi. Trying to find words to avoid punishment, the captain of the Argentina national team still managed to say everything he thinks. And it is precisely in such a way that FIFA is now considering his statement as a reason for sanctions.
– There is a lot of anger, I think it should not have ended like this. I don’t want to talk about the judge. You can’t be honest, you are then punished for it. We were scared during the game because we knew who it was. FIFA should reconsider the situation. You can not put a judge who does not correspond to the level, – Leo conveys the words to TyCSports.
After the match, Messi did not differ in composure at all, for some reason he went to talk with the coaching staff of the Netherlands national team, which eventually turned into a skirmish with Louis van Gaal and Edgar Davids. And during the interview, he ran into the Dutch footballer Wout Weghorst, who was passing by, with the words:
– What are you staring at? Get out of here you moron!
So if FIFA investigates Messi’s words only to the referee, Argentina will get off quite lightly. For violations by Serbs and Croats of the article of the FIFA disciplinary code “improper behavior of players and officials”, the federations of these countries received large fines.
Leo has a chance to do without more serious punishments. For a guaranteed disqualification, it was necessary to at least bite the opponent, as Luis Suarez once did. Unless Paredes runs the risk of missing the match for a trick, and even that is not a fact.
And what about the Dutch? After all, Van Gaal’s team was also rude on the field, and then criticized the referee. In particular, Frenkie de Jong stated that the referee whistled only in favor of Argentina. Everything is fair: the international federation also opened a case against the Royal Dutch Football Association.
“Orange” is charged with violating the same article of the FIFA disciplinary code. But even if someone in the van Gaal team is disqualified, nothing bad will happen. The team has already left the tournament and is not fighting for medals. But the Argentines will have to worry a little more in anticipation of the verdict.
