The France national football team defeated the England team in the ¼ final match of the 2022 World Cup.

The meeting, held at the stadium “El Bayt” in El Howrah, ended with a score of 2:1. Aurélien Tchouameni put the French ahead in the 17th minute, Harry Kane converted a penalty in the 54th minute and restored the balance. The winning goal was scored by Olivier Giroud (78).

In the 84th minute, Kane failed to score a goal from the 11-meter mark, sending the ball over the crossbar.

In this game, the 29-year-old striker repeated Wayne Rooney’s record for the number of matches for the national team (53). French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris broke the record for the most games played for France (143).

France will face Morocco in the semi-finals on 14 December. The second semi-final pair will be the teams of Argentina and Croatia (December 13).
