Former Manchester United footballer Andrey Kanchelskis said that the decisive match of the World Cup in Qatar is one of the best finals he has seen in his life.
In the final of the 2022 World Cup, which was held on Sunday at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, the Argentines defeated the French team. The main time of the match ended with the score 2:2. In an additional 30 minutes, the national teams scored a goal, and in the penalty shootout, the Argentine players were more accurate – 4:2.
One of the best finals I’ve seen in my life. Six goals and dramatic penalties… The game looked good. Personally, I was rooting for Argentina – they won. I think that the Argentines deservedly outplayed France. In the first half, we completely outplayed the opponent. The French joined in the second half, but there were small mistakes. On the other hand, there is no football without mistakes.
I thought that the French would squeeze in extra time. It turned out that the Argentines found the strength in themselves … I think that the rest day had an effect. The French were not as fresh as before. It came to a penalty shootout – here, purely psychologically, the Argentines were better prepared, – quotes the words of Kanchelskis “Championship”.
