The international book of records has registered the challenge of Zhuravel’s commentator “Match TV” at the 2022 World Cup
The international book of records InterRecord has officially registered the challenge of Match TV commentator Timur Zhuravel to attend all matches of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Zhuravel attended all 64 matches of the tournament as part of the “Timur Was Here” challenge, which no other person in history has been able to do before.
— The highest number of matches attended by one person at the FIFA World Cup was recorded by Timur Zhuravel (Russia) — 64 during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Katera. Lusail, Qatar, December 18, 2022, — said in a message on the InterRecord website.
Zhuravel could also get into the Guinness Book of Records, but members of the research team refused to record the achievement. The refusal on the official letterhead came when Zhuravel had to attend two semi-finals, a match for bronze and the final of the tournament.
– The Guinness Book of Records has stopped all business with Russia and Belarus for an indefinite period. Thus, we cannot accept this record,” the message said in response to Match TV’s request for record registration.
The World Championship ended on December 18th. Argentina won the championship after beating France on penalties in the final. Bronze medal for Croatia.
