Semi-automatic offside technology will be introduced in Serie A next month, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has announced.
FIGC said in a statement that the technology developed by FIFA and used at the World Cup in Qatar will be applied from the 20th round matches.
This technology uses both dedicated and broadcast cameras throughout the stadium to accurately determine the position of players on the pitch, providing match officials with accurate information within seconds. The optical tracking system is designed for faster and more accurate detection of offside.
