Messi named Argentine Athlete of the Year 2022
Lionel Messi named the best sportsman of the year in Argentina according to the country’s sports journalists.
The 69th award ceremony was held in Buenos Aires. The leader of the Argentina football team was absent from the event and received the award in absentia.
Messi has been named Argentina’s Sportsman of the Year for the third time. Previously, the footballer won the nomination in 2011 and 2021.
The Argentina national team won the World Cup in Qatar. Messi scored seven goals in the tournament, including two in the final against France, and was voted the tournament’s best player.
