Russian referee Sergei Karasev told the Championship that after the ban by FIFA and UEFA, he has the motivation to referee more in Russia.
– Loss of motivation? I have not heard such words. Maybe I once said in an interview that refereeing in Russia is now coming to the fore. Another material question arose. In addition to the fact that we judged in Europe, we also received good money serving the Champions League. Probably, people thought that now there is no motivation and so on. However, you need to look at my games. If there is no motivation, then a person will not run anywhere, constantly make the wrong decisions.
The first half showed that there were some shortcomings, but everything is in working order. The motivation is to judge more in Russia, because this is my favorite thing. How can I pick up and leave, since Europe has closed? I would like to judge as long as possible in Russia. Motivation can be found. You need to provide for your family and I love this business, – said Karasev.
Recall that Karasev was included in the preliminary list of judges for the 2022 World Cup, but he was not on the final list of arbitrators.
