“Playing is better than not playing at all. Until you try, you won’t understand ”- Bushmanov on a possible transition to AFC
Russian coach Evgeny Bushmanov admitted that he does not have an unequivocal position on the possible transition of the Russian Football Union (RFU) to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
On December 23, the executive committee of the RFU postponed the decision to move to the AFC. RFU President Alexander Dyukov said that the final decision would be made on December 27, and until December 31, the RFU has time to apply for entry into the AFC so that the Russian team has time to take part in the 2026 World Cup qualification.
– A complex topic, in fact, I don’t want to be unfounded. There is not enough information yet to give a detailed answer. Of course, playing is better than not playing at all. Until you try, you won’t understand. It is not clear when they will want to see us again in Europe. Now they know how to play football everywhere, including Asia. It is important that both the national team and our clubs will receive international practice. This must be taken into account, – Bushmanov told RB Sport.
