Wings of the Soviets head coach Igor Osinkin told Metaratings.ru that the top scorer in the first part of the WORLD RPL season, Vladimir Sychevoi, who previously played for Orenburg, was number one on the Samara shortlist.
The 26-year-old footballer signed a 3.5-year contract with the Wings.
– You said that you want Wings not only to sell great players, but also to buy them. Does the arrival of the top scorer of the RPL satisfy your desire?
– First of all, we would like a certain stability in the club and would not want to sell our leaders in large quantities. Glushenkov suited us in everything, but he received a worthy offer, went to another club. We received good compensation for him and could not remain without an attacker. We have young guys, but we needed another combat unit tested within the framework of the RPL. Sychevoi was a very interesting option, he was number one on our shortlist.
Thanks to the efforts of the governor of the Samara region Dmitry Azarov and the sports department of the club, we were able to sign a contract with him. We look forward to fruitful cooperation. He can give us new options. Vladimir is a big guy, and sometimes our “small” team lacks dimensions. We hope that his ability to fight with power and play fairly active football with a lot of movement will help our team. We hope that he will continue to progress, will be the same bright scorer now in our team.
– Sychevoi scored 14 goals in 15 RPL matches. How much do you expect from him in the second part of the season?
“It’s a matter of psychology and skill. We do not yet know his real level, we do not know how quickly he will become part of the team – it is difficult to digitize expectations. But still, we took him as a scorer, we need goals. We hope he gets the job done. It is very difficult to name figures, especially since I have already argued twice with Konstantin Genich about the goals of the players – and I was left without these players (smiles). It is clear that this is a joke, but we are waiting for goals, and if there are psychological problems, we are ready to solve them all together. To go to another team after such a successful part of the season is very difficult.
This season, MIR RPL Sycheva made 15 appearances, scored 14 goals and made two assists.
