“A year of shock and sad change.” Koloskov called the removal of Russia from international tournaments the event of the year
Honorary President of the RFU Vyacheslav Koloskov admitted to Sport24 that he considers the removal of Russia from international tournaments as an event in 2022.
“It has been a very difficult year for all of us. The event of the year and the disappointment was the same news – the removal of Russia from world football. It still torments me. It was like a bolt from the blue for everyone, because there were no football prerequisites. Solid politics. Nothing positive comes to mind. A year of shock and change, sad change. I can’t single out anything outstanding this year,” Koloskov said.
The RFU is considering the possibility of moving to the Asian Football Confederation. The Executive Committee of the RFU, which will make the final decision, should be held before the end of the year.
