Former Zenit goalkeeper Yevgeny Kornyukhin told Sport Day after Day that the Blue-White-Blues need to strengthen the goalkeeper line in case Brazilian Ivan leaves the team.

And the fact that he is leaving now … He could not gain a foothold, his matches played for Zenit can be counted on the fingers. If he corresponded to the level of “Zenith”, then, most likely, he would play. Moreover, he is a foreign goalkeeper. And since Ivan does not play, then you need to get rid of him.

If Zenit wants to strengthen the goalkeeper line, then Safonov, as an option, yes. From Safonov, it makes sense to move forward. Yes, Krasnodar is good, but it will be better for him at Zenit – Petersburgers have been fighting for the championship in recent years.

– Zenit preaches such a style of play, where the goalkeeper must constantly be in the game, play more with his feet. Offhand, it is difficult to name such a goalkeeper, but there are worthy goalkeepers in the RPL who can play at the level of Zenit.
