Black day for the Earth. The greatest football player in world history is gone

Pele’s heart stopped. He showed wisdom and love to those around him until the very end.

There are not many cases in world history when the whole world would pray for the health of a dying person without exception. However, sometimes the prayers of all mankind are powerless. On December 29, 2022, Pele’s heart stopped. The footballer who changed the game forever. An athlete respected even by those who see no point in kicking the ball on the grass.

Disturbing news about the three-time world champion in the Brazilian national team has appeared with varying frequency for several years. However, shortly before the World Cup in Qatar, the situation escalated. Pele tried to reassure fans by recording videos about his condition, but even from them it was clear that the legendary striker had lost a lot.

In September 2021, he was diagnosed with a colon tumor, and in April of this year, Pele was hospitalized due to an exacerbation of the disease. There were enough other health problems: the kidneys were failing, the operation to replace the hip joint gave complications.

Despite his age and deteriorating condition, Pele warmly and touchingly supported the Brazilian national team at the tournament in Qatar, hoping that Neymar would beat his record for goals for the national team – 77 goals. And when the Brazilians sensationally lost to the Croats in the quarter-finals, the King showed wisdom and mercy by supporting the star of the current generation of Brazilians.

It was during the World Cup that the news about Pele’s hospitalization appeared. The daughter of the great football player tried to reassure the fans, hinting that journalists were escalating the situation and exaggerating. However, people all over the world, both famous athletes and ordinary fans, united in prayers and good wishes to the legend. Social networks were filled with warm comments, images of the Brazilian appeared on the buildings of Doha, all over the world worried and prayed for him.

Soon after the World Cup, it became clear that the situation was close to critical. He said goodbye to his loved ones.

Pele is gone, but people of this magnitude don’t die. After all, it is enough to call his name anywhere in the world, and people of any age will begin to smile, nod in understanding and show the sphere with their hands.

Farewell, the greatest football player in history.

Vladimir SHARAN: “The Swedes were too weak at the New Year’s table”

For many, the coming year is associated with bright hopes and expectations of changes for the better in life and work. The famous football coach is no exception. Vladimir SharanShared with the reporter Spor.ua Statements about the New Year theme.

– Until what age did you believe in Santa Claus?

– I don’t even remember. Probably up to age six. No more. Until I went to school.

– What is the most unusual New Year celebration in your life?

– The most unusual and extraordinary was the New Year, which I spent in Israel during my stay as a player in the USSR youth team. An international tournament was organized in this country, in which our team participated. It’s plus twenty outside and we’re celebrating the new year in shorts and T-shirts.

The next day we had to play against the Swedish national team in the final. The Swedes sat next to our table on New Year’s Eve, they saw how we relaxed, and how we relaxed. Believe me, we rested much better and played much better (smiles). As it turned out, the Swedes were very weak at the festive table. We won the final match 2-0.

– As a Ukrainian citizen and a football coach, what do you expect from the new year 2026?

– To be honest, everyone is waiting for one thing; peace. And I’m not the only one who can say that. If there is peace, everything will return to normal. I really want the war to end as soon as possible, for people to be free, for parents not to bury their children. This is the most important thing. And as a coach, I expect changes for the better in our football.

I would like the Ukrainian championship to be full-fledged and finally achieve some kind of stability. And also for the Ukrainian national team to successfully pass the World Cup play-off tests and please the fans as often as possible. I also really want the football players in our club to have a good future, to become real football masters, to gain recognition and to be invited to various national teams.
