Spartak’s victory in the Russian Cup has become the main Russian football event of 2022, Alexander Zhukov believes

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, former President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Spartak fan Alexander Zhukov named the most significant event in Russian sports in 2022.
– Of course, this is the Olympic Games, where our athletes competed. The same Bolshunov showed himself well. If we take football, then this is the victory of Spartak in the Russian Cup for the first time in a long time. This is a serious event,” Metaratings.ru quotes Zhukov.
The Winter Olympics were held in Beijing from 4 to 20 February. The Russian national team won 32 medals at the Games: 6 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze.
Spartak won the Russian Football Cup in May. In the final match, the Red-Whites defeated Dynamo Moscow with a score of 2:1. For Spartak, this cup victory was the first in 19 years.
