Few people know, but my liver hurt from childhood until the end of my sports career. Probably only Barbosa and Romantsev knew about this, because very often I stopped on the field during matches or training due to pain. Such a need was not only in Portugal, but also in France and Spain. In those moments I would ask for something to eat, some chocolate or a sandwich.
The doctors indicated liver problems, they offered to suspend my football career, but I acted at my own peril and risk. I underwent an operation in Spain because the problem was haunting me and I could have ended my playing career sooner.
