Ural President Grigory Ivanov told RB Sport that he supports the proposal of FIFA President Gianni Infantino to name at least one stadium in all countries of the world after Pele.

The Brazilian died on December 29 at the age of 82 after battling colon cancer.

Pele was a great football player. It is worth perpetuating his memory. Good idea. Maybe she will come true. I am personally in favor. We’ll see how it goes.

– Do you have a desire to name a stadium in Yekaterinburg after Pele?

– I’m saying yes. But the decision will be collective. Our stadium belongs to the region. We’ll see. We may come up with such a proposal.

Pele is the only three-time World Cup Champion (1958, 1962, 1970). Pele played 92 matches for Brazil and scored 77 goals. At the club level, the striker played for Santos and New York Cosmos.
